The new 2010 membership is going well. The members that have not paid their 2010 dues have to pay for two years now that the 2011 cards are in. The 2011 renewal notice has gone out please send in your 2011 ASAP. Please let’s try to get all renewals in by November so we can be at 100% before December’s county meeting. Please fill out the update form when sending in your dues so we can update our system. Please be aware that you cannot drink at our legion without your new card. EVERYONE WHO HAS SENT IN THEIR DUES FOR 2010 AND GETS A POST CARD FROM NATIONAL PLEASE DISREGAURD IT THEY SEND THEM TO EVERYONE WHETHER YOU PAID OR NOT. I have also sent out a list with our meeting dates with all your renewals any changes will be posted.
I would like to let you that the Sons have joined the Josh and friends program, we will be sending out information soon to try to get all our organizations on board. This is a wonderful program. Any questions see Bill Bell. We held a meeting with the chairman of the Josh program with the county and had a lot of questions answered. I would like to thank Our Legion and the Simon Parise post 9596 VFW from Taft road and the Legion Riders and the Color Guard and the Auxiliary for donating money to the program. The hospital was over 40 dogs short to fulfill for the amount of children in need this past year. We will be having a meeting with the hospital soon they are in need of josh dogs. Anyone who knows or hears of a child in need please let Bill Bell know so we can send out one to them. The Sons have received six josh dogs to have on hand. We will be meeting with the people from the Children’s Hospital soon. Anyone who would like to be on the josh committee, please see Bill or drop a note in the Sons box with your contact number. Remember we still need help Fridays at the fish dinners it’s really been getting busy so come and help. We are also looking for a few Sons to help out with Bingo on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4-7, sign up at the Legion if you can help. The Sons 1,000 Dollar Raffle Tickets are in and are available at the bar or from any Sons Member. The Monday horseshoe league is well under way come cheer us on. The new horseshoe pits are now done. The new pavilion is well under way and they assure us it will be done for ClamFest. I would like to let everyone know that Bill Bell has been elected to first vice commander at the county level. The ClamFest is next week anyone who can help Friday and Saturday all help is welcome. Congratulation to all new Sons Officers. I would also like to thank Ed Squires for taking pictures during Memorial Day festivities, great job. Anyone who is not receiving your news letter via e-mail please drop me a note and we will get it fixed. We have a very busy summer ahead so I hope to see you around the post. The Sons have been asked to help at the Rider’s Convention in July contact Bill Bell if you can help. Any Sons Member who would like to march in the Convention Parade and carry the Sons Colors, please see Bill.
