As I stated in my last column February was to be a busy
month. It did turn out to be just that. Thanks to all who showed up for the
Super Bowl game and a special thanks to Brian Doyle for the great job he did on
the Super Bowl shirts. Everyone had a great time. Those who attended the
Valentine Dance had a very good time as well. The music was GREAT and thanks to
Charlie the food, which was very tasty, was enjoyed by all. On March 13th we
will be having our annual Ham Raffle. This year we will also be serving a Corned
Beef, Ham & Cabbage Dinner. This will start at 1 PM. We will have many Hams and
several other pieces of meat to be raffled. Advanced sale tickets are on sale at
the Bar. I attended the monthly meeting of the Post 787 Legion Riders this past
week and found them to be planning several rides for this upcoming year. If
anyone would be interested in joining the Legion Riders I would urge you to
contact Kirk Wilson or plan on attending one of their monthly meetings which are
held at the Post every second Tuesday of the month, 7 PM. They are also making
plans for their New York State Legion Riders Convention July 16 & 17, 2010,
which will be held at our Cicero Post 787. These dates are the same as the NYS
Legion Convention which will be held in Syracuse. Our Legion Riders will be
leading the NYS Legion Parade. While traveling this past week I stopped in at
the Legion Post in Hogansburg with the Sons Vice Commander, Bob Turnbull and our
wives. Had a very nice visit with their Commander, Todd Conners. They were VERY
hospitable and gave us the complete tour of the Post. If anyone is ever
traveling up that way I would encourage them to stop in and say hello. Be
advised that there is a sign up sheet in the Lounge for those who would like to
help out for the Wednesday evening Bingos in the kitchen. Don't forget that this
is your POST, I invite you to come in, volunteer and enjoy a great
