Who Is Valorant Agent 25?
Before anything, it’s crucial to understand just who Agent 25 is in Valorant. Agent 25, according to leaks, is a Controller, which means his moveset will revolve around obscuring vision for enemy players. The last controller released by Riot was Harbor, which was the fifth Controller in the game. With the addition of Agent 25, the game will have a total of 6 Controllers.
Although the agent’s official name hasn’t been disclosed yet, the mined files suggest that his codename is Smokedancer, suggesting that his abilities will also revolve around the usage of smokes. Recent leaks also suggest they’re already familiar with other agents on the roster, which would make sense since his abilities are similar to Omen.
Finally, as for how he’ll play, many fans are predicting that Smokedancer will use their abilities in a more offensive manner as opposed to Omen’s recon and tactical approach. However, nothing is official as of yet, so you’ll likely have to wait for Riot to make a statement before being sure of anything.
Valorant Agent 25 Release Date
So, with all of that being said and done, when will Agent 25 be released? Well, the exact release date for this new agent is unknown, as leaks suggest that they won’t be coming to the game alongside the start of the new map.
On the contrary, Agent 25 will come to Valorant later in March. More specifically, around VCT Masters Madrid 2024. The first international tournament of the year will be taking place from Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 24, and the new agent will likely come to the game around the same time.
Since Riot has not officially announced the agent yet, it’s very likely that the announcement for Agent 25 will also be done during the tournament, with some speculating that the developers might shadow drop the agent on the day of the finals, though there isn’t any confirmation yet.
Valorant Episode 8 Act 2 Release Date
According to the countdown appearing in-game when you go to your act rank, Episode 8 Act 2 of Valorant is set to begin on Tuesday, March 5. However, in the past, it’s happened that the new act came a couple of hours after the end of the previous act, and the same might potentially happen here.
As soon as Act 1 ends players won’t be able to queue up for competitive mode until the next act starts. Additionally, every player will have their ranks reset, which means they’ll have to play their placement matches to see which rank they get placed in at the start of Act 2.
