What Is Sand Land?

Sand Land is an upcoming action RPG developed by ILCA, that has fans excited worldwide due to the manga it is based on. The trailer was released in January and showed that the story sways from the previous work of Toriyama but still managed to get fans excited and waiting for the game. 

As is in the name, the game takes place in a vast, desert wasteland, sometime after the world’s water was wiped out due to wars and natural calamities. We are introduced to Beelzebub, the son of Lucifer and Prince of Hell, who tends to steal from humans. Fortunately, Beelzebub is decent enough to take only as much water as required. 

Beelzebub visits Rao, the general responsible for ordering the Aquanium Explosion which created an enormous crater in the earth. Rao swears vengeance against the tyrannical ruler and his former liege called King.

King rules over Sand Land by controlling a large supply of water. He sells bottled water for a high price and those who can not afford it decay in thirst.

Rao who saw the disturbing events under the rule of King, seeks to find the Legendary Spring which has an infinite source of water. While Beelzebub joins Rao on this adventure, the duo is uncertain whether the Legendary Spring they are looking for truly exists.

Sand Land Release Date and Consoles 

The worldwide Sand Land release date is April 26, 2024, but will be released in Japan 1 day earlier. The game is already available for pre-orders via most major game retailers. The game will be available on multiple platforms from release so this is a major positive news for players.

The game is confirmed for the following platforms – PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. While the older generation PlayStation will be able to play the game there is no news on whether Sand Land will be released on Xbox One. A Switch release is not confirmed but the game might be released later on similar to Dragon Quest 11.
