The month of April is set to set some major game releases and looks to be a very good month for gamers. For instance, the ShiftUp-developed sci-fli game, Stellar Blade will be releasing on April 26 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Additionally, Sand Land will also be released on the same day but for the PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

What Is Star Wars Outlaws?

The official story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws was released on April 9 and it gave much details about the golden age for the Underworld where the Outlaws takes place. Star Wars Outlaws is the story of Kay Vess and Nix as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. It seems to be heavily inspired by the adventures of Han Solo but according to creative director Julian Gerighty, will be more relatable. 

The game is Outlaws between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (the second and third films in the original trilogy) because at that time the underworld was thriving. Players can explore the vast open world of Outlaws that is spread across multiple handcrafted planets of manageable sizes. 

While Ubisoft did not give too much information about the length of the game two key developers mentioned their desire to not make the game too big. They want players to be able to play and enjoy the game but also manage to finish it. The game is played in the third person and on-ground players will rely on hand-to-hand combat, gunplay, and stealth sequences. 

In addition, while players are aboard their vessel, The Trailblazer, Outlaws they can engage in dogfights with TIE fighters and larger-scale battles against massive vessels. There will be three ways to explore the land of Outlaws – on foot, riding your speeder, or aboard your ship. An interesting thing is the lack of a black or loading screen while changing from the 3 modes of travel. 

Another thing that players will be able to interact with is the two systems that will govern how you are treated by the factions, the Empire and the various crime Syndicates. In Star Wars Outlaws Reputation and Wanted systems will govern how the factions behave with you. If you build your Reputation then Syndicates will trust you more, offer better contracts, store prices will be cheaper, and you will be able to access new territories. If you fall on the wrong side then you will be hunted by the Syndicates.

On the other hand, if the Empire puts the Wanted tag on you then you will hunted and branded a fugitive. This can happen if you refuse to pay a bribe to an Imperial office and you can be changed from land to space.

When And On Which Platforms Will Star Wars Outlaws Be Released?

The official release date for Star Wars Outlaws is August 30, 2024, but if you purchase a special edition then early access for the game will start on August 27. Outlaws will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. 

The game is available for preorder for all the supported prices and costs $70. If you want early access and additional features then you can purchase the Gold and Ultimate Editions but they will cost you upwards of $100.
