Enshrouded: Where To Find An Athanor
Enshrouded has been slowly but steadily gathering popularity despite being relatively new and coming from a decent-sized studio. The biggest reason for the game’s popularity is definitely thanks to the high amount of freedom players are given in terms of what they can craft and where they can go.
However, as is to be expected, it’s crucial to have the correct ingredients and complete the required prerequisites. One of the many craftable items is called the Athanor. Today, we’re here to go through everything you need to know about this item, including what it is, and how you can craft it.

What is the Athanor in Enshrouded
Enshrouded has several different questlines that players have to complete if they want to progress in the game. One of those said questlines is given by an NPC called Crafter, who eventually asks the player to build a Laboratory.
However, remember what we said about it being necessary to have the required ingredients before building or crafting anything? Well, if you want to build a Laboratory then you need to have an Athanor in your possession first. Of course, it’s unknown if anything will change with the upcoming updates.
How to get an Athanor in Enshrouded
Now that you know what the Athanor is and what role it plays in Enshrouded, it’s time to cover what is arguably the more important thing. That’s right, how you can get an Athanor in the game.
Well, the first thing you should do is progress in the game enough until you complete the “A Cauldron for the Alchemist” quest, as it allows you to build an Alchemy Station. With the quest complete, craft an Alchemy Station by using the black Cauldron
How to craft the Athanor in Enshrouded
With the Alchemy Station built, it’s time to start crafting the Athanor. You can do this by bringing 10 Glass, 10 Bronze Bars, and 4 Lumps of Clay to Balthazar, the Alchemist.
The easiest way to get a bunch of Glass in Enshrouded is definitely by setting up a Smelter. Just bring 30 Sand and 5 Charcoal to it and craft the glass easily.
As for the Bronze Bars, that might be a problem. To craft Bronze Bars in Enshrouded you have to unlock the Smelter and Charcoal Kiln both. Then, you have to bring seven Copper Bars, three Tin Bars, and ten Charcoal to the Smelter to finally make one single Bronze Bar.
Finally, the last ingredient you need to make an Athanor is Clay. Keep in mind that Clay isn’t available in early-game areas, and the mobs around normal Clay spawn points can be tough to take down for newcomers. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your hands on Lumps of Clay by looking at the sides of large mountains and boulders. You can easily spot them in the wild thanks to their brownish color, and hitting them with a pickaxe is enough to extract them.
With all the ingredients in your possession, it’s time to interact with the Alchemist and then look for the Athanor under the “tools and components” category. Now, just click the craft option and you’ll have yourself an Athanor. With it, you can now craft your Laboratory to access end-game ingredients and spells to further strengthen your character.
This concludes everything you need to know about finding the Athanor in Enshrouded. Not only do you know what this item is, but you also know how you can acquire all of the ingredients required to craft it. For more from GamingFlaws, we recommend you check out The Best Games Recreated In Roblox.
