Rockstar released a press statement after the release of the first trailer of GTA 6 on December 4, 2023. The official press release states, “Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025.”

This confirms that GTA 6 will definitely be released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. However, it also makes the probability of the release of the game on older generation consoles and Microsoft Windows bleak. If Rockstar does decide to not release the game for PC, it will be a highly surprising move.

According to previous statistics, the Grand Theft Auto series has been highly successful on the PC. It is possible that GTA 6 will not be released on the PC at the initial launch but fans will be able to play the game on their PC later on. The main storyline of Grand Theft Auto 6 is based on Lucia, the first official female protagonist of the series, and Jason, a male partner of hers. There have been playable female characters in the previous chapters but nothing so fleshed out and majorly featured.

The criminal duo is said to be inspired by infamous criminals Bonnie and Clyde and their introduction in the trailer shows them as inmates who break free from prison.

Some other things showcased in the trailer are beaches, boats, bathing suits, and bayous, which is not surprising due to the map being based on Florida. Multiple modes of transportation were shown in the trailer. For instance, we saw cars being raced on highways, speedboats cruising the sea, planes being flown in the sky, and dirt bikes on the streets.
